HELP WANTED: Host/Hostesses and Ushers for Sunday Worship.  See Alma Oberg, Paula Haggerty, Jackie Nixon or call the church office to volunteer for the worthy ministry of being ambassadors for God and First United Methodist Church.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS.  The Samaritan class holds classes each Sunday at 9:30am.  When you bring your children or grandchildren to church come join us for rousing discussions on our spiritual walk with God and His Son Jesus.

SING***SING***SING***  Do you love to sing in the shower, in the car.  Why not join a group who enjoy the same thing.  The choir meets every Tuesday at 7:30pm in the sanctuary.  If interested call the office or just come join us on Tuesday evenings.  We are a fun loving group who loves to sing praises to God.

PRAISE BAND is looking for people who love to learn new and exciting music for Jesus.  Join Christ United Methodist Church, and First United Methodist Church for the Christ First Praise Team each Saturday morning at 9:00am.  Loads of fun and great fellowship.

Father's Day Plans

"My Dad."  The worship committee is collecting pictures of YOUR Father, Dad, Daddy or Papa.  We are putting together a Father's Day surprise.  Please leave your picture with a committee member or the church office.  The deadline for the pictures is June 1.  PLEASE make sure you put your name on the picture so we can get it back to you.

Vacation Bible School  (July 28th through August 1st)

Our Sunday School Department is in need of arts and crafts supplies such as fabric, containers with lids such as butter, yogurt, and cottage cheese, yarn, fabric glue and tacky glue.

Anyone interested in taking Disciple Bible Study 1 which will be starting in June, please call the church office or sign up in the narthex.

Meatloaf Dinner

Get your tickets today to the church wide Meatloaf Dinner to be held on Monday, June 30 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM here at the church. The menus includes Meatloaf, Scalloped Potatoes, Glazed Carrots, Cole Slaw, Dessert and beverage -- all for the price of $7.00 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12 - children 5 and under are free.

 The Acts 29 Prayer Encounters registration forms are on the table in the narthex. This exciting event with be held on Saturday, August 23^rd, 2008, at the New Martinsville UMC from 9:30 - 3:00 PM. Acts 29 Prayer Encounter is an inspiring blend of worship, teaching, ministry, prayers and fellowship that you won’t want to miss. Please mark your calendars and send in your registration early. Registration deadline is August 12^th.
